Tabuik (West Sumatra)
This one ceremony is actually more related to religion, based on the beliefs of Muslims. But it is only found in Padang Pariaman Regency, West Sumatra. So, it becomes a tradition that is typical of the area. The Tabuik ceremony was held as a form of warning for the death of the son of the Prophet Muhammad in a war at the time of the Prophet. This ceremony is held exactly the day before the first fasting, starting from morning to evening before dusk. Pasola (East Nusa Tenggara)
In this traditional Indonesian ceremony, there will be two groups that carry out "warfare". Each group consisting of more than 100 youths "fought" armed with wooden spears with blunt ends, and also wore armor in their custom. In February or March every year, this ceremony will be held to offer prayers to God, so that their harvest that year can succeed.
