1. Tolindo / Popondi


Tolindo is the name of a traditional musical instrument typical of South Sulawesi that may originate from Toraja land, with its unique and simple form with traditional Tolindo or Popondi music in various traditional events there. Tolindo's musical instruments are also quite famous in the world, the name Tolindo is the name of a traditional musical instrument in the Bugis area while Popondi is for its name in the Makassar area.

This traditional musical instrument is made from materials that can be searched from nature, namely wood, coconut shell and wind because we use Tolindo by picking. Tolindo or Popondi has an arc-like shape, this instrument is also included in the one-stringed zither type. The coconut shell will later be used as a resonator.

Traditional Popondi / Tolindo musical instruments are usually played by experts when harvesting their rice fields or when filling their free time.

2. Idiokardo or Bulo Drum


Musical instruments in the form of a drum, which is paired with skin on both sides, this instrument will make a sound if it is patted or hit on the skin.

Bulo drum has a different size, one side is wider on the part that is hit. To play the Bulo Drum, you have to arrange it in advance and if you are normal (left-handed) the bigger side is on the right and to hit it using a wooden stick or drum stick, and the left side is hit using your palm.

3. Alosu / Lalosu


Alosu is a type of musical instrument made from woven coconut leaves and forms small, neatly arranged boxes. In this section there are seeds that if we shake it will make a sound like the one in a plastic bottle. The use of Alosu is difficult to find, but if you want to have some regional songs that use this traditional musical instrument as accompaniment.

4. Ana 'Becing


Becing is a musical instrument made of metal and played by being struck by one another. The shape is interesting, like a paddle making this musical instrument quite famous, often used in carnivals or party parades and traditional ceremonies.

5. Keso-Keso


Keso-keso is a traditional South Sulawesi musical instrument that is quite famous because the sound produced is very beautiful and makes us feel carried away with the atmosphere of its origin. This traditional musical instrument uses the name "keso" because it is indeed the way to play is swiped, called "keso-keso" and some people also have something called "Kere-Kere Galang".

In the keso-keso body part which is referred to as the resonator is made of wood that is chosen in a special way and uses a banana liver with a cavity in the middle to create maximum sound. After being carved in such a shape from the basin, the void of the jackfruit wood is covered with a membrane made of selected goat skin.

6. Flute of Lembang


Lembang flute is the same as a flute musical instrument found in another area that emits sound when blown, except that the lembang flute is 50 to 100 cm in diameter and 2 cm in diameter, the lembang flute is usually equipped with more than 8 holes to produce a unique one.

7. Puwi-Puwi


Puwi-puwi or also called puik-puik is a trumpet musical instrument typical of South Sulawesi. The shape and function of this musical instrument are exactly the same as some musical instruments from other regions in Indonesia, such as chrysanthemums in Sumatra, Sronen in East Java, and Tarompet in West Java.

8. Stale Basi or Clarinet


Basi Basi or Clarinet is a musical instrument made of bamboo in which there is a double membrane, how to play it by blowing it. The Bugisarkan community is stale and the Makassar community calls it a clarinet.

9. Jalappa / Buttons


Jalappa is a traditional musical instrument that is shaped like a cymbal, this instrument is made of brass metal and is used during certain traditional ceremonies such as when offering offerings to the gods.
