I have lived in Jakarta since I was a child. Since the age of a toddler, both parents have been invited to move to this big city. In the past, I routinely went to tourist attractions in Jakarta every year, so I knew all the museums here.
That was about 30 years ago. At present, Jakarta's tourist attractions continue to grow. Some entrance ticket prices are barely affordable to the lower middle class. So, when the holiday arrived my husband and I had to turn my brain to find cheap and not boring entertainment places in this area. Until finally a friend recommended Kampung Betawi Setu Babakan.

Actually, DKI Jakarta as the capital city of the country, has 4 cultural reserves, namely Kampung Betawi Rawa Belong, Kampung Betawi Setu Babakan, Kampung or Rumah Si Si Doel, and Kampung Si Pitung
Of the four cultural heritage sites, I chose to invite the family to Betawi Village Setu Babakan. The consideration is the close distance to our house which is located on the outskirts of the city, the border of Jakarta, South Tangerang and Depok, West Java. Besides that the Betawi peculiarities are very thick here compared to other places.
Kampung Betawi Setu Babakan is located in the South Jakarta area. Border with Depok, West Java or precisely at Jalan Muhammad Kahfi, RT 13 RW 8, Srengseng Sawah, District Jagakarsa, South Jakarta. Setu is a small artificial lake located in the middle of this village and is the center of several existing tourism activities.
Kampung Betawi Setu Babakan is not just a cultural heritage that grows by itself. Seeing the area that most of its citizens still maintain the beauty and Betawi culture, this village was officially used as a cultural heritage on 18 August 2000 by the governor of the Jakarta DKI at that time, namely Governor Sutiyoso who was familiarly called by the name Bang Yos.
There are two reasons that make Betawi Village Setu Babakan form a cultural heritage. First, the Governor saw the area around Setu Babakan still maintained its authenticity. In addition, some original arts are also often shown here. Second, the city of Jakarta developed into modern. Therefore, the right cultural heritage is needed so that Betawi culture which is part of national culture is not extinct.
Initially inaugurated, Setu Babakan is not as busy as now. Lake or Setu Babakan is even considered haunted by some residents. However, when it was made into a tourist spot, Setu Babakan became crowded. Many migrants who are not even native citizens have built a place to live here.
Enter Setu Babakan also doesn't make you spend too much. The entrance ticket price is only IDR 5,000 per person. These attractions are opened from 7:00 to 23:00. Every holiday season and Eid, Setu Babakan is packed with around 5000 to 10,000 visitors every day.

1. Water Tourism
Setu Babakan as a center or tourist activity center is used as a tourist attraction for water. Here there is a duck boat that can be boosted by two people per boat. There is also a dragon boat that contains around 20 people.
2. Culinary Tourism
Around Setu Babakan, there are various Betawi specialties at varied prices. Available dishes include egg crust, fried bean sprouts, laksa, soto Betawi, and soto tangkar.
3. Art
Especially for Saturdays and Sundays, Setu Babakan organizes Betawi arts performances. For residents in the surrounding area, they can even take part in regular Betawi silat training. The usual Betawi arts are regularly presented, namely Betawi Silat, gambang kromong, gambus, kasidah, and Hadroh

4. Fishing Tourism
The last available here is fishing tours, in accordance with the vast setu area. The fishing location is divided into two, namely the free area and the paid area.
