Reog art originating from East Java Ponoroga has become a cultural art to this day. In the art show Reog displays a mask shaped like a lion and better known as "Singa Barong". Lion Barong indicates that the king of the forest is the king's symbol of the Earth Kerta. Reog with the shape of the barong lion above is plastered with peacock feathers and resembles a giant fan. Then there is a character called the Jatilan who plays a gemblak dancer riding on horses indicating the royal army. In playing Ki Ageng reog dance, Kutu supports the barong lion using his teeth. So according to history the story is an army as a fight against the rebellion of the Earth and Majapahit.

Modern Reog art is often performed at several entertainment events such as on Indonesian independence day and at traditional ceremonies on the first date of the Shuro.
